Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 94+
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is cut from the same cloth, with plenty of richness and depth, yet it stays slightly more focused and tight on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness as well as beautiful darker currant, cassis, darker chocolate, graphite, and hints of flowers. It's concentrated and has beautiful mid-palate density, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's another undeniably delicious, hard-to-resist Cabernet Sauvignon from the talents of winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Give bottles a decant if drinking any time soon and enjoy over the coming 10-12+ years. Maturity 2023-2035.

Wine Tasting Notes

The 2021 vintage of the Schrader Double Diamond Oakville Napa Cabernet is poised to surpass the acclaimed 2019 vintage in terms of its depth and complexity. Upon first sniff, this wine bursts forth with the aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, black cherry, and red plum, accompanied by a delightful herbaceous undertone. On the palate, one can taste the succulent flavors of both red and black fruits, with subtle notes of black tea, damp earth, vanilla bean, lavender, and a hint of flint. The wine's fine-grained tannins and refreshing acidity linger on the palate, creating a long and satisfying finish. While this wine is enjoyable to drink immediately, it also has the potential to age gracefully for many years to come.

Double Diamond is renowned for producing wines that exceed expectations in every aspect. Each release is meticulously crafted with an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality, a trait that has established Schrader Cellars as one of the most esteemed wineries in Napa Valley. Our wines are the result of uncompromising winemaking, designed to indulge the senses and gratify even the most discerning palates.
