Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 94
Readers looking for an incredibly charming, delicious Pinot Noir that's going to deliver the goods should check out the 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley from Hartford Court. Revealing a translucent ruby/plum color, it has a wonderful nose of spiced red and black fruits, candied violets, orange blossom, and incense. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's wonderfully balanced, with soft, supple tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. Drink this beauty any time over the coming 5-6 years.

Vineyard Character
The 2019 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes from a collection of small vineyards located throughout the Russian River Valley AVA. These vineyards are a combination of our Estate properties such as Arrendell, Barbieri, Bellflower, Fog Dance, Hailey's Block, Jennifer's, and MacLean's Block as well as a handful of our neighbors' vineyards located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The sites express the essence of the Russian River Valley by showcasing the best of the neighborhoods within our AVA:
  • Green Valley - Keen acidity, spice, red fruits, blood orange.
  • Laguna Ridge - Dark berry and cherry aromas and flavors, subtle loamy character.
  • Sebastopol Hills - Dark color, purple flowers, Indian spices and precise mouth feel.
  • Santa Rosa Plains - Deep red and black cherry, fruit focused with supple tannins.
Each neighborhood contributes complexity and character to the final blend.

Wine Tasting Notes
Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, black currant, allspice and loam are followed by flavors of wild raspberries, dark berries and a crushed rock minerality. The dense entry is followed by a sweet and juicy mouth feel, supported by acidity, silky tannins and a subtle earthy finish.
