Wine Enthusiast Review
Rated 93
A very dark but extremely well-integrated dark-fruit aroma of black plum is met with wood spice on the nose of this blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petit Verdot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 5% Carmenere. It's firm on the palate, providing a frame for the caramel, butterscotch and brown sugar flavors that decorate the core of black cherry and chai spices. It is rich and very enjoyable.
Wine Tasting Notes
A hallmark of a great wine is the unfolding of layers that happens as it sits in your glass. Immediately after pouring, this wine is bright and full of blackberry and cherry notes tamed by a bite of savory fennel. Swirl in your glass and sasparilla notes emerge, integrating with soft vanilla as the wine unfolds The palate is simply elegant; with a silken mouthfeel and tannins that are very much alive after being cellared in barrel for 26 months and in bottle for 2 years. We highly recommend decanting this wine and watching the layers reveal themselves.
