James Suckling Review
Rated 96
This is so perfumed and beautiful with cherries, strawberries and dried flowers that follow through to a medium to full body with firm, fine tannins and a long, energetic finish. All about length and finesse. Drink in 2024.
Wine Enthusiast Review
Rated 94
Camphor, pressed rose and oak-driven spice aromas come to the forefront. The smooth, full-bodied palate features spiced cranberry, dried cherry, licorice and coffee bean framed in tightly wound, fine grained tannins that clench the close. Drink 2025-2032.
Wine Tasting Notes
Barolo Marcenasco is smooth, balanced, elegant and faithfully reflects the typical characteristics of the La Morra - Annunziata sub zone. This vintage combines both the boldness and refinement that is typical of the Marcenasco. It's a beautiful red color with garnet highlights. Aromas of red fruits blend with gentle traces of licorice and tobacco, then lead to similar flavors accented by dark cherry, plum and savory herbs. The wine is full-flavored and full-bodied but maintains a graceful finesse. It's very approachable now and will age gracefully for years.
