This is really savory with bay leaves, lightly grilled meat and violets. So complex. Full-bodied with fine yet chewy tannins that are layered and beautiful. Some basalt and white pepper undertones. Lovely soft and powdery tannins. Medium body at the end. Thoughtful wine. Drinkable but even better in two or three years.

This bright and juicy Pinot Noir has a deep ruby-red color. Etude Grace Benoist Ranch Carneros Pinot Noir exudes fragrant aromas of red cherry, cranberry, and cassis, complemented by hints of dusty rose and tobacco leaf. The vibrant fruit is supported by crushed stone and minerality. On the palate, there is a refreshing acidity that accompanies a core of fresh red berries and dried cherry. The oak aging is evident with notes of perfumed cedar, white pepper spice, caramel, and toasty vanilla oak. Delicate cherry blossom, wild violet, dried thyme, and bay laurel add secondary notes. The wine has a medium body with soft tannins and a firm grip. The finish is long, smooth, and round, with nuanced hints of graphite, clove spice, and earthy minerality.
