Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 92
Moving to the reds, the 2020 Grenache Rodney's Vineyard has lots of up-front black cherry and gamey black fruits to go with medium-bodied richness, a layered, elegant, seamless mouthfeel, good concentration, and complex notes of peppery herbs and underbrush. Based on 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah that saw a splash of stems and 21 months in 14% new 500-liter puncheons, its well worth seeking out and will give many an impressive Chateauneuf du Pape a run for their money.
Wine Tasting Notes
A paradigmatic note of raspberries courses through the aromatics of this Epiphany Rodney's Vineyard Santa Barbara Grenache. A lovely, elegant note of black tea makes itself known on the nose, while on the mouth, it's just a feast of herbes de Provence, orange zest, clove and black cherries. A very long finish suggests it will age well - at least 8 to 10 years from the harvest date on the bottle.
